Breakfast Bites - US Presidential Debate on the Cards

Rise and shine everyone.

It’s a big day for the US as we prepare for the first televised debate between the Presidential candidates at 9 pm ET on CNN. The debate comes earlier than most years, it’s usually in September. So the markets will have more time to parse the policies and what we could expect in the years to come.

Watch out for yields spiking though after the debate, if the candidates don’t address the economy and fiscal policies well. In general, both candidates have inflationary policies but, how they address and what it means for future economic growth will be important. If the market views slower growth and higher inflation on the cards, we’re likely to see some reaction.
